I truly enjoyed the photos. I have not been back to campus since I graduated in 1964(almost 40 yrs). I only recognized a few faces. That's an event that I still don't like to remember. But your photos are great and it brings back memories of homecoming and of the years spent at Virginia State and in Petersburg. Herman. I knew you had it in you all the time. What a great idea. I have a very vivid memory of where I was when I heard about the death of JFK. I was sitting on the team bus, on our way to Baltimore for the Thanksgiving game with Morgan State. We had just boarded the bus after a brief stop in Waldorf, MD when I heard the announcement over a radio belonging to one of my teammates, John White (from DC). I was sitting next to Eddie Golder and we were both discussing how we were going to beat Morgan in our return to our hometown. Herman, you probably don't even remember me but I absolutely LOVE you for doing this... I had just come from swimming class with the great Paul Godwin and Chang...changed my clothes while watching the TV reports...then went to class "Mother" Mohammed's History class talking about Mesopotamia... when I noticed the flag at half staff, I raised my hand to tell her and she said "Oh, OK--now during the Mesopotamic period......"
